Friday, March 10, 2023 - Opened and poured. Light garnet. Some aggressive stalkiness which quickly receded to show balsam wood, red fruit, and spice. Delicate, subtly sweet, outstanding acidity, mineral underpinning, and gentle, long finish. Another extremely successful bottle of this which held up very well during a 2 1/2 hour meal. These have generally been a great delight and offered incredible value.

The next day, the fruit is still hanging on, but it really shows more chocolate plus its minerality and soil. Quite a showing for a "minor" 53 year old wine.
