91 Points

Sunday, June 27, 2010 - Popped and poured. Medium-plus violet hue, quite youthful. Forward, fresh aromas of ripe Napa Cabernet fruit...blackberry, blueberry, creme de cassis, fresh herbs, and oak. Medium-plus body. As the nose indicates, this quite fruit forward on the palate...almost as little more modern in style than is typical for Mondavi yet still elegant, with flavors of dark, plummy fruits, ripe currant, earth, and a touch of smoke from oak. Tannins are surprisingly smooth and tame on the fruit-filled, lasting finish. A great vintage for this wine, probably the best made since '02. Delicious and tasty right now, but should improve with short to mid-term time in the cellar. Another great 2007 QPR in Napa Cabernet!
