Wednesday, November 10, 2010 - Popped and poured. Medium-plus purple/garnet hue, still quite youthful in appearance. Forward aromas of dark fruits, creme de cassis, anise, and a touch of toasted oak. Medium-plus body. On the palate, the fruit still shows a bit primary but is smooth and elegant in presentation, with black fruits, blue fruits, earth, cedar, and some smoked spice notes from the oak. Tannins are silky smooth on the moderate close. Really opens up nicely in glass. Great QPR in Napa Cabernet and already improving in the cellar...may not be the longest lived of vintages, but should be singing in another 1-2 years.
