Sunday, March 10, 2019 - Last of 3 bottles purchased in 2010, others scored 88 and 90. Consumed over 2 days (vacuvined), note from day 2. Nose: Medium expressiveness, red and blue fruit - cherry and plum, bacon fat, leather, and hints of Asian spice - this has matured nicely. Palate: Medium-full bodied, dark fruit - cassis and plum - and Asian spice attack, leather and menthol notes appear thru the mid-palate, up-front fruit persists nicely thru the back-end where earthy notes join in. Finish: Medium length dominated by dark fruit, spice and earth. I believe I caught this near it's peak - everything is in balance, quite a pleasant surprise.
