Sunday, September 2, 2007 - The first Viognier I've tried from the Willamette Valley of Oregon was the 06 Witness Tree Viognier Estate Bottled. To the eye it was a light sparkling gold color. But the nose was intense and gave waves of perfumed flowers, cloves, spices and more flowers. In the mouth this was a medium bodied wine and offered sweet apple, candied limes and other citrus fruits. It certainly tasted like a Viognier, but a richer, sweeter tasting version than I've had in any completely dry version of this varietal.
