91 Points

Monday, May 24, 2010 - Single-Blind Cabernet Tasting @ Urbana (Washington, D.C.): almost pitch colored in the glass. plums, ink, smoke and charcoal on the nose. the attack on this wine is just that: an attack. it's like a full-on assault of paint and thick tannins. i mean, this is so big my palate doesn't know what to do. tasted blind, i thought this had got to have about 16% alcohol. quite hot. the finish has black magic marker. this is huge, and very, very young. i rated it a 91 because i enjoyed the attention this wine demands. i don't think i could drink more than a glass of this. it needs 10 years at least.
