Thursday, August 17, 2023 - Consistent note from my previous tasting. Really great stuff. I really like the balance from Monforte baroli: deep Nebbiolo flavors and tannins with more oomph than its western neighbors but more approachable than a Serralunga. Not tertiary yet, but I bet in a couple of years, this will be like velvet with some of those wonderful, aged Nebbiolo characteristics. No rush, but no fear in opening now. Drink with an hour or two of air or hold.
