90 Points

Saturday, August 28, 2010 - After being open a couple hours the nose has really opened up and the perception of the tannins seems to have softened. I taste lovely red fruits, mostly tart cherry with a hint of raspberry and lovely tones of vanilla in the nose. No smoke like we noticed in a bottle in March. The wine, although by no means BIG, is not as feminine as previous Kutch wines I have tasted. That was really the charm of those wines. They also showed a riper fruit flavor profile to me. This one leans a little more toward the tart fruit spectrum. Definitely it is very different from Kutch's other wines(in my taste). Reminds me of some Oregon Pinots I have tasted. I feel this wine should evolve and be very nice and silky at the age of 6 years. A very nice wine.
