Thursday, May 6, 2010 - This Pinot is a baby. Decanted 6 hours, drank over that period. Big style with great balance, opened up some by hour six, but still yummy from the beginning. Nose of tobacco and violets with some black tea notes. On the palate great structure/acidity, fruit and earth tones that are very intense. Huge mid-palate with very focused flavors that seemed to change every hour. Some medium tannins on the finish along with some oak. I would say best in 8 to 12 years. Not cheap, but one of the best young Cali Pinots I've tasted. Glad I bought another case. Will try again in 5 years.
