Tuesday, October 16, 2018 - I thought this was a lovely Bourgogne. It had such a perfumed, pretty Chambolle nose, with dark cherries and berries garlanded with whiffs of freshly stalked violets. There was some typical Barthod earthiness at first, but that faded behind the more perfumed notes with time. The body was clearly on the thinner side, but there was a nice round juiciness to it, with a pure crunch of fresh cherries seasoned with spice and a kiss of florals. Simple, but delicious - just want you want from a Bourgogne of its age.
