Still exhibits rapier acidity, but otherwise showing its age, as one might expect. A very satisfying wine, fairly rich with developed fruit and a charred, caramel note. Complex and pleasing,.

The acidity of 2008 is still present but there are signs of secondary development amongst the red fruits and savoury vanilla but this is my last bottle so will not find out how it develops further .

I thought this was a lovely Bourgogne. It had such a perfumed, pretty Chambolle nose, with dark cherries and berries garlanded with whiffs of freshly stalked violets. There was some typical Barthod earthiness at first, but that faded behind the more perfumed notes with time. The body was clearly on the thinner side, but there was a nice round juiciness to it, with a pure crunch of fresh cherries seasoned with spice and a kiss of florals. Simple, but delicious - just want you want from a Bourgogne of its age.

Medium-deep ruby, clear. Not very expressive, cherries, later turns to tobacco notes, old leather. Already on day two it showed signs of tiredness and went on oxidating slowly. On the palate it is light and fresh and very pleasant to drink. Tannins are still present and a little rustic. At times it feels as if the fruit was not completely ripe. Overall quite enjoyable, but doesn't have much resistance to air.

A little tight initially with '08 acidity to the fore but settled down in the glass and revealed surprisingly dark fruit with some richness through the mid-palate. Very different to the 2009 drunk the week before but no less enjoyable.

Once again, consistent with previous note. Pure cherries, some hints of game and a light mineral tone. Acidity is great, however the fruit is really not there to make the great balance. With food however, it is fine.
Could perhaps take a few more years in the cellar, but I cannot see the big reason for doing so. The concentration is really not there to make up for the already lingering acidity being present. It should be underlined, that for this level of Burgundy it is a great bottle of wine.

Pure cherry fruit with a little bit of funk on the nose just to make sure you know it's burgundy. A touch astringent at the moment. Not complex or deep but very fine for this level and would compare well to most villages wines.

Mostly consistent with previous note. The cherries had transformed more into a pure cherry scents, with some game and and hints of oak. The fruit appears more pure now. The acidity is still solid building a great framework and contributing to a solid length on the finish, however the fruit was perhaps lacking a bit now. Still it is a great match with food!
Still in doubt what this will gain with further age, and how the acid/fruit ratio will develop. I am curious, however the current state is hard to resist for this level of Burgundy.

Knightsbridge Holiday Burgundy Sale (Northbrook, IL): Pure, bright red cherry coming through incredibly for a Bourgogne level wine. One of the best 2008s I've had at Bourgogne level, it's purely primary and probably at its best now, but really accessible, well done and truly charming today.

The emperor either has no clothes, or this is WAY too acidic. I'm sure it would have made a smashing sparkling wine, but this is simply unbalanced and although the decidedly black fruit is pretty enough (not charming, mind you...), it is nowhere near powerful enough to keep the piercing acidity in check. I hope we don't have another 1996 on our hands...

Mid deep red colour. Nose mainly of game, hints of wet forest, cherries and currants. The palate mirrors this, good concentration, nice tannins and a great balance at the current state. Finish is long for this level of Burgundy - great value for money! Could almost mistake this for a light barbera if it had not been for the elegance and the lack of "sour cherries".
Can't help wondering if this would benefit still form some time in the bottle. No worries about taking them now, but gut feeling tells me that there is some more in there...
Very enjoyable Burgundy from this grower - again.

Second bottle of this in the past 2 weeks. First one came and went a bit too quickly to remark. Second one was enjoyed over the course of +4 hours. Based on the second experience it is recommended to hold these bottles for a few years or decant well. Bottle age will compliment this wine far more than decanting so hold em if you got em. First glance gives the impression the wine is "just pinot" but time reveals a much more interesting soil note that is worth the wait. Amazing value.

Light, purple colour. Quite intense, floral flavours and aromas of red berries. Young and deliciously fruity with straightforward acidity. This is a really good regional burgundy!

an easy drinking wine but lacks vibrancy - may have left it too long?

Stylish, crisp, clean and simple pinot noir. Not for the fainthearted with regards to acid. Best value for money in this segment for Norwegians.
