Sunday, January 31, 2016 - A 2002 Mugneret-Gibourg Horizontal: Gorgeous wine, textbook Chambolle, both viscerally and intellectually compelling. Complex nose of smoky blue-black fruit, menthol-y herbs, meat, flowers, rock, and so pure and harmonious that the wine can get lost in a night like this, in the last flight of a phenomenal evening of highly expressive wines. It is a gorgeous wine though, striking in its purity and complex harmony. In many ways, for me this was the wine that was in the best spot for drinking on this night.
