Friday, September 22, 2017 - This is certainly on the young side right now. The nose opens up with a lot of dirty funk, which certainly speaks of Clos Vougeot to me, as far as grand cru goes. The fruit profile here is also a bit darker than I would expect in 2008 as well. The palate is fairly sappy, and while the tannins are a bit tough, there seems to be enough fruit to age. This is not one of the overly light 2008 wines that I perennially worry about.
