Friday, June 11, 2010 - This is like one of those extra pungent smelly cheeses that somehow taste just awesome. This has a rotten eggs strong sulphur smell, which is quite powerful, but don't let it scare you - there is a beautiful wine underneath. Once I had the wine, it all made sense - it does smell like the seaweed that comes out during rough seas... This wine has crazy minerality - almost sea salt like, with beautiful underlying flowers and white fruits. A touch of lemon on the long finish. Very light and elegant on the palate, it was a perfect pairing with the cod and great on its own. This is very chablis like and very enjoyable.
