Tuesday, December 1, 2009 - Pop n pour. A remarkable wine on many levels. An elegant, polished nose of pine tree, cassis, leather, red flowers and chocolate. Very fresh and still youthful on the palate, this continued to open up over the course of 90 minutes. On day 2, even more lovely and polished. Outstanding harmony and depth of fruit, this was a superb food wine on day one and day two. I wish I had a case. I enjoyed this with a friend from La Morra, and she, like myself, felt it akin to a very fine, elegant and aged Barolo. 12% abv, approx $28. Remarkable!
