  • Nearly five years since the last one, and this particular bottle is still developing. Sous bois driven funk that needed at least two hours in decanter to blow off (could have used four). The nose is woodsy, herbal, leans toward pine needle and black cherry. The palate, with its 12,0% abv is the lighter side of full bodied, with terrific balance, focus and freshness. Tannins, acids and fruits are in great harmony; this will be long-lived (think two more decades, easily). Gained weight and grip with each successive pour. Great stuff, will buy more at any opportunity. highly recommended, drink thru 2031

  • Pop n pour. A remarkable wine on many levels. An elegant, polished nose of pine tree, cassis, leather, red flowers and chocolate. Very fresh and still youthful on the palate, this continued to open up over the course of 90 minutes. On day 2, even more lovely and polished. Outstanding harmony and depth of fruit, this was a superb food wine on day one and day two. I wish I had a case. I enjoyed this with a friend from La Morra, and she, like myself, felt it akin to a very fine, elegant and aged Barolo. 12% abv, approx $28. Remarkable!
