Saturday, December 28, 2013 - My first good taste of this wine, as the last few times I have not had the time with it I would have liked. Right out of the bottle this shows dark, blue fruit that is very ripe. With just a bit of air it is open and drinking really well, showing off a ripe year but with enough earth to it that you still think it is Burgundy. Enjoyable as a first wine, before we moved to a more gamey, structured '02 Gevrey. This will be a crowd pleaser for new world pinot lovers, but I also really enjoyed the ripe, sappy fruit combined with some earth and balance of Burgundy. Would be drinking now, but seems to be able to hold for a while. A-
