Monday, December 28, 2020 - Mid- garnet to bricking red edge. Lots of ripe fruit aromas (classic warm vintage 2003) with baked morello cherries, cherry paste, red plum and light melba toast. Surprisingly bright and fruity though at 17 years-impressed! Super succulent on the palate- tempered with vibrant acidity, gentle red plum skin tannins and a long, languorous finish. This is a suave and sophisticated wine packed with flavour: sous Bois, candied cherries/maraschino cherries, rose petals and fresh species. Expressive, well-balanced fruit sweetness with bright acidity underpinned with flesh and wonderful depth. Classy, beguiling wine.
