Saturday, June 9, 2007 - Much better after I left it out for a couple hours. The currant is not so overwhelming, and a mix of elderberry and cherry have developed. Now nicely integrated, the taste is still a mixture of dark fruit. A very silky mouthfeel to this, still, and the vanilla is no longer as dominant in the finish. Still a great wine. I'd say that if you have an open bottle, keep it for at least two more years, or decant it for a while before serving.
