Saturday, March 16, 2013 - A medium depth red\garnet colour with very strong slow tears forming on the glass. A powerful nose of peppery fruit and leather with a hint of indeterminable herb or greenery. The palate of this full-bodied wine was dry, smooth with low soft tannins and slight acidit. Powerful flavours of pepper and redcurrant with a slight earthiness that gave a good long finish. Had been decanted for 2 hours. Overall well balanced full flavour Coudoulet. As ever this really was better than its classification of Cotes du Rhone would suggest and better than some CDPs. Drank well with Pork and a pepper sauce.
