Friday, April 18, 2014 - Very good showing. Traditionally made Chateauneuf du Pape, mature I think, showing marks of garrigue, dusty red fruit, pepper and smoke. This is big-scaled, however, and perhaps just a little bit more pushed than I prefer. The 2001 Raspail-Ay Gigondas we enjoyed the following day was more about finesse and elegance. Still, this is a very good fix if one is looking for a solid bottle of mature Chateauneuf.
