On the palate cassis, plum, some pleasant bell pepper, leather, tobacco, mint, eucalyptus and sweet spices. Good acidity and silky soft tannin with just a little very pleasant bite. With the low alcohol this wine could easily be mistaken with a Bordeaux. The eucalyptus and that little bit of extra sweetness tell that this is California. At day 2 the little leftover was still very much alive; the sweetness showed a bit more, but it is still a lovely wine with a great length.
