Friday, March 7, 2014 - Pours deep ruby with bricking at the rims. Very strong aroma of oak and dried cherries. Medium body. On the palate, dark cherry, musty basement, leather, earth and a big hit of oaky vanilla. At first, the oak is overpowering but it rounds off quite neatly with air time and even more so in the presence of food. Actually, a couple of glasses in and eating it with roasted potatoes and ribeye, this is absolutely delectable. Something about this wine and the roasted potatoes just works. The last drops from the bottle are pure maraschino cherry.
