Wednesday, December 1, 2010 - Hadn't had Ghost Block in a while, so when I saw it in the store, felt like the right wine to have with the chateaubriand my brother-in-law had in his Traeger. And, as I hoped, this wine paired amazing well. It's a big CA Cab and fairly typical of that genre, but with a very nice acidity level and spectacular smoke on the nose (probably what helped pair it well with the meat). Dark red fruit and mocha added on to a lush, broad palate. A touch light on the finish and not terribly complex, but as someone at the table remarked "tastes like it's supposed to." I'll take that any day...
