It started out with a nice mature nose (though somewhat shy and reticent), with a little funk to go along with the red fruits, old library books, and roses. It fell flat on the palate, lacking some depth in the mid-palate. The tannins were also a bit dusty and drying, sometimes dominating the fruit at the finish. The acidity was overwhelming the fruit as well. This is likely just an off-bottle, as other bottles from this case have shown much better.
