Friday, August 31, 2018 - I may have delayed too long . A quite beautiful initial strike becomes muted and diffuse. I think the almost burgundian subtlety has gone on too long and has become vague . I like it , most will , but it is that little bit short of great The charcoal and pencil lead intro , merge with a definite floral note and become a quite harmonious whole . But overall it is short on substance, much to my dismay, as I drank it on a special occasion. It lacks a focus, a centre, and although lots of usual suspects appear , none have a starring role. Violets and crimson fruits, damson and plum are some of my favourite flavours and I blame myself for not having appreciated them earlier.

If you have a cold cellar, this could be really great right now.....
