Thursday, October 14, 2010 - Soft, but full nose. Deep currant and cola notes on first smell. Ran through the venturi. Soft texture, thinner than expected with such a dark, garent-inky color. Uninteresting at first and tasted like a typical young zinfandel meritage. Over the next 30-45 minutes, this wine came to life. The plushness I was looking for came through, deeper notes of cola, cherry, chocolate and boysenberry. It had a hint of juniper through the middle and had a nice finish. This was a great QPR and would be a good everyday wine, with or without food pairing.
