The nose was restrained, acidity seemed high and out of balance, and tannins were sharp-edged. Very fruit-forward, fairly simplistic flavor with a medium but hot finish; if blind-tasted I would have guessed a CA blend. Maybe it's going to sleep for a while and will wake up more refined in a couple years? Or perhaps I'm an old-school BDX/CDP fan and this isn't for me? The bottle just didn't have the elegance of a Grand Cru.
