2008 Rhys Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

Saturday, September 30, 2017 - Color is a translucent cherry with bricking around the edge. Upon opening, the wine was a tad reserved due to the 55 degree temp. As it warmed it was ready to go. The nose is all violets and spice. On the palate, you are immediately met with a delicious tart cherry, a nice hit of Asian spice, earthiness, mineral notes, white pepper, acidity and enough structure to allow this wine to run for awhile. The next sensation is one of impeccable balance that leads to a delicious lengthy finish that keeps reminding you just how good this wine is. Probably the best Rhys Pinot I have had to date and I've been following Rhys from the beginning. My first 2008 and thrilled to have several more bottles and a Mag. This is another confirmation for me that Kevin and team are on to something special.
