Wednesday, November 23, 2016 - Dinner at Home (Fremont, CA): Deep ruby without bricking; nose is aromatic with cedar, black fruit, nice bit of subtle asian spice which adds a lot of complexity, very slight nice herbal component; palate is full bodied, tannins are medium but well integrated, plenty of black fruit at first but it doesn't quite have persistence all the way through the midpalate, palate a bit simpler than the nose but overall well balanced, medium alcohol (14.5%), medium fresh acid; medium finish. This is a nicely balanced california cab with interesting character on the nose, good value for its price (~$50). I don't think this will improve but it has a few years left. 90-91
With 90 minutes air, the palate develops even some green notes that give it complexity. Very nice wine.
