Thursday, September 26, 2019 - Interestingly, this bottle is showing a little less tired than the last, in spite of the cork breaking (stained 1/4 way) and the other being two years ago. Don't get me wrong, it's still "drink up" status for sure, but it's still enjoyable enough (can't believe I didn't get to another for two years!). Opaque black color with garnet to tawny at the very edges. Aromas of dark fruits, dark chocolate, walnuts, licorice, clove, and graphite—Bordeaux-like and quite nice actually. Medium body and acid, medium (-) finish, and flavors of dark fruits, dark chocolate, walnut, tobacco, licorice, lemon, and minerals. Not mad at this actually. Had it with a minestrone soup, but a steak, steak sandwich, or sausage and peppers would probably be better. It's a nice standalone sipper post meal as well.
