Tuesday, May 1, 2018 - Tasted at The Wine Society's Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon tasting, Winchester, UK. I'm familiar with this vintage of Batailley, and quite happy to taste it again. The colour is dark maroon, tending to black. Savoury nose, earthy and deep blackcurrant. I think it's fully mature now and ready for drinking. The Wine Society says (I think optimistically) that it will keep until 2035. It's so good now, I wouldn't want to risk that. Excellent.
