Wednesday, May 11, 2022 - Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of medium ruby colour, with fading rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium (+) intensity aromas of black fruit of blackberry and dark plum, red fruit of cherries, herbaceous notes of bell pepper, animal notes of leather, maturity notes of tobacco and savoury, sweet spice of bay leaves, pungent spice of liquorice. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium tannin of ripe and silky texture, medium in alcohol and medium body, with medium (+) intensity flavours of black fruit of blackberry and dark cherries, sweet spice of clove, kernel notes of coffee, maturity notes of tobacco. The wine has a medium (+) finish.
Conclusion: Very good quality Pauillac, after opening for 3 hours the aromas is very appealing, with good intensity and showing lots of complexity, and showing clear indication on the presence of Cabernet Franc in the blend. On the palate the wine is elegant, juicy and well-structured, with nice tannin but not excessively harsh, showing good concentration in flavours and a fairly long finish. It is ready to drink now but can further develop for another 5-7 years.
