Wednesday, November 21, 2012 - Decanted and drank over 2 days. Very dark in color with a tight but bold nose of black fruit, cedar and coffee. The palate matched with more deep black fruit, some smoke, bitter earth and plenty of tannin. Very ripe. Even after a day this was still pretty tight. It will need a lot of time, but the core of fruit is outstanding, but the tannin is more evident than other 2009s I have had. Long finish. The rest of the case will last a long time.
