Tuesday, July 19, 2016 - This bottle was not showing as well as previous ones. It felt young, austere and closly knit and while it did open up a bit after a couple of hours in the decanter it never really blossomed. Harsh tannins, fruit on the thin side, not giving much. Based on this bottle I would say that the fruit will fade completely before the tannins mellow, if they ever do. Previous bottles has been on a different level though. Perhaps something was off with this bottle but since I could detect no obvious fault, like TCA, I nevertheless decided to score it.
