Fine little wine. Still shows some fruit and is in a fine place. Nothing spectacular but a good wine for a quite low price with a lot of classic barolo flavors

Another great bottle of this! Really a lot of bottle variation but when it's good it's really good. This bottle is quite advanced, more so than any of the previous ones: brick colour, forest floor, mushrooms, dries roses, light liquorice and tar. All the hallmarks of mature nebbiolo. The tannins are fairly smooth and silky, but not totally resolved.

This bottle was not showing as well as previous ones. It felt young, austere and closly knit and while it did open up a bit after a couple of hours in the decanter it never really blossomed. Harsh tannins, fruit on the thin side, not giving much. Based on this bottle I would say that the fruit will fade completely before the tannins mellow, if they ever do. Previous bottles has been on a different level though. Perhaps something was off with this bottle but since I could detect no obvious fault, like TCA, I nevertheless decided to score it.

(Cascina Cucco Cerrati Vigna Cucco) Expressive aromas of caraway and cumin are followed by a medium-full texture with excellent concentration. Noteworthy acidity and structure carry into a lengthy finish. Impressive persistence and beautiful expression of terroir from a consistent and underrated producer. Best in 15-20 years. Appellation: Serralunga d'Alba

Initially closed and tannic but after a couple of hours drinking well. Not a big, bold wine, but charming with elegance and pretty red fruits.

In this bottle perhaps a bit thin fruit not quite masking the tannins but still a nice wine. See also previous notes.
