Thursday, February 3, 2011 - Copious oak on this merlot right up front so if you're not an oak lover this is a clear pass. If you are an oak lover this wine will not disappoint. Very woodsy vanilla oak and cedar along with some ripe dark fruit and a touch of smoke. Very rich nose. Pretty nice mouthfeel too. Fine tannins, a little background heat, nice balance. A very decent Napa Merlot!
