Wednesday, August 3, 2011 - Aromas of pear, fig, almost tropical fruit notes, white flowers and a chalky minerality. Full-bodied with pear, apple, citrus and tropical fruit notes. Bright acidity with a layered and rich mouthfeel with honeyed and toasted grain notes that lead into a long, mineral-laden finish. There is a trace of RS on this, but there is more than enough acidity that there really isn't any impression of sweetness. No doubt this shows the ripeness of 2009, but this a wonderfully balanced wine that will be fun to check in on with some bottle age.
