Monday, May 14, 2012 - Very pale yellow. The nose opens with citrus, mineral and a whiff of pear. Very bitter like aperitif, with some Meyer Lemon and a touch of minerals (saline) on the finish. This unique wine cleanses the palette and leaves a citrus aftertaste. Might have been better with raw shellfish like clams, mussels or oysters. While I understand it is still young, at this price point, I still would prefer a nice Sancerre. I can understand how this style would be appealing to some. Should be interesting to see how this wine evolves.
