Saturday, April 20, 2013 - Decanted through a vinturi and let it sit in the decanter for 4 hours. The Haut-Batailley smells of blakberry, pepper, chocolate, tobacco, leather and soldering bolt. Great structure with aromas of lead pencil, black berries, truffles, tobacco and a gentle animal touch on the palate. This is built to last so I'm glad I have a few more in my cellar.
