Wednesday, September 13, 2023 - At Wine Group Dinner #199 DRC Richebourg Vertical, Harvey's Bistro. This was WOTN with a dense dark cherry colour and a still primary nose of blackberry, raspberry, dark cherries and wild strawberries with touches of roses and Asian spice. The bouquet continue to evolve and change during the too short evening and led into a palate of great intensity and layering that defied gravity to remain weightless and delicious at this early (14 year) stage of development. There is lovely grip and finesse here that recalls the 2009 La Tache drunk here in 2020. This is a very special bottle of Burgundy.

10/20/2023 12:36:00 AM - Hi Palisades57. Thanks for your enquiry. This was decanted for approximately 3 hours before pouring and continued to unfurl in the glass. In my experience the best 09s are 50 year wines that will slowly unfurl over the ages - they certainly stand up to decanting ! We have now had the La Tache, RSV and Richebourg as part of 2001-2009 DRC vertical yearly for the past 3 years. The 09s are all fabulous but very large scale.
