Saturday, August 15, 2009 - Consumed at Prima's restaurant in August or September of 2009, after having a bottle of the same wine at the Waldhotel in Davos Switzerland. The bottle in Switzerland, perhaps because it was not open as long, was more austere and linear, only gradually opening with some time in the glass. That, or the wine was haunted by the rain-swept hills by the ghost of Thomas Mann. The bottle at Prima's was more expressive, certainly not fully mature, but with excellent ripe fruit at its core, which is etched with Piemonte acids. A wine with real class and breeding...
