Monday, December 10, 2007 - This is an extraordinarily promising wine. Lots of complexity, ripe, plummy fruit. Seems to be getting better all along and then, BAM, this seel curtin of impenetrable tannins descend. But there is so much fruit and structure, thhat the patient will doubtlessly be rewarded in time. My personal taste goes more to the structure of 97 99 and 01, but of the ripe vintages I have tasted recently -- 98 Bartolo Mascarello, 00 Mascarello Serralunga, this G. Mascarello is perhaps the post exciting, and the pricing is not to be believed! Still available around $60 and a steal at that price.
