Thursday, April 16, 2020 - Glorious bottle. Apologies go good friend dbkitc who opened a bottle on my recommendation (and we shared notes during a Zoom tasting lagrst night. This might have been the highlight of some excellent drinking over the course of the shutdown. This has every single element that makes Monprivato such a great terroir in perfect balance and harmony but all scaled to this vintage. Bright red fruit inflected with rose petals (fresh and dried) and iron shavings, high toned, perhaps a hint of VA that adds to he enjoyment, great balance and nearly resolved tannins with all of the same elements. I know these notes are incomplete, but totally reminds me of unforgettable bottles of 85 and 89 but without the same heft and power, but all of the glorious notes perfectly balanced.
