Monday, January 13, 2020 - (mostly) Castiglione Falletto vs Serralunga, 2005-earlier (Osteria Langhe, Chicago IL): Nose: There is a great amount of perfume and depth right away with strawberries, red cherries, raspberries, black tea, licorice, spice notes, smoke, earth, tobacco, tar, rose petals, and wild flowers. The nose is enveloping and has kicked into that next gear as it has more of an ethereal quality right now.

Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with tart, high acidity and silky, high tannins. The structure is starting to pull back and let the feel shine as it's silky and refined with strawberries, red cherries, raspberries, spice notes, smoke, tobacco, black tea, earth, tobacco, rose petals, and a lot of wild flowers on the finish.

Overall: This has entered the awesome phase of its life. There is an immense amount of perfume and depth that shows off a lot of red fruits with the tertiary notes starting to emerge, but they don't dominate. This is right in that zone and is drinking beautifully.
