Tuesday, March 15, 2022 - Purchased shortly after release from Garagiste. My bottles have always had a slightly volatile and stewed fruit aspect to the scent and flavors on opening. This mostly blows off with air revealing a very pretty, smooth and silky barolo with, cherry, rose, and sandalwood flavors. Long finish. Very nice but not up to the level of some of the bottles other tasters have reported. No evidence of heat damage on the cork or neck. Extra long cork still looks fresh and intact. These have been well stored since purchase. Minor heat damage in shipping or is this typical for this wine? I wish these were at the level of others reports as I have two more in the cellar.
