Monday, April 1, 2024 - Last bottle opened was in early 2022. I had good memories about it, but let's call them foggy.
This was beautiful surprise. As we decanted it, what a blast of ripe fruit, definitely merlot dominant (OK, it's 95%!). A lot of fruit, hints of tobacco, slightly herbal. Well-integrated tannins, a nice touch of acidity to keep everything balanced. A fine example of the elegance of the 2009 Bordeaux for a fraction of the cost of any grand cru, but much more than a fraction of the enjoyment !
