Thursday, July 11, 2013 - Started out a lot better than it finished after 3 hours in the decanter. Dark ruby red, hints of aging at the rims, great nose of currants, cassis, earth, leather. Nice entry on the palate, found acidity slightly overshadowing the fruit, and a long finish. Medium to full bodied, decently complex and well balanced, tactile wine, but not a charmer. Drunk next to the 96 which was a lot more evolved and with much darker fruits. Will retry in a few years but my money for now is on the 96.
