Monday, April 25, 2016 - Tour des Deux Rives, San Francisco: I've had this wine thrice before. 5 years ago it was really singing with a ton of red fruit. I had it twice last fall and it was very complex but reticent on the nose and still tight on the palate. This time the bottle was ex-chateau and it was even more closed and austere. Aside from the red fruit, I got a eucalyptus note. I'd say well stored bottles need more time to flower. It think that this wine is still in young rather than over the hill because it is still primarily fruit driven. This wine needs to make good on its promise and Wine Spectator "Wine of the Year" designation.
