90 Points

Tuesday, May 5, 2009 - Popped and poured. Tasted side-by-side with an '04 Cos d'Estournal. The '04 Pichon-Baron was approachable and sleeker and more minerally in character, with superb aromatics and a moderately concentrated palate of dark fruit, lead pencil, coffee, and soy. Less baby fat than the Cos. Fine ripe tannins on the moderately long finish. This is not a blockbuster but very tasty and totally true to its Pauillac origins.
